Lady Gaga Joins Wednesday Season 2 With Jenna Ortega, So Prepare to Have a Monster Ball

Lady Gaga is about to get all together ooky with the Addams Family.
The "Die With a Smile" singer has been cast in the second season of Netflix's hit series Wednesday, according to multiple outlets.
In fact, Gaga already started filming in Europe alongside castmates Jenna Ortega (who plays Wednesday Addams), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Gwendoline Christie (Larissa Weems), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) and Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), per Entertainment Weekly.
As for what role the Joker: Folie à Deux star will step into for the series? Details on her character have yet to be disclosed, though Ortega previously hinted at which part she wanted to see Gaga take on.
"I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way," the Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice actress told Variety in a January 2023 interview, "so, if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other."
E! News reached out to reps for Netflix and Gaga for comment but has not heard back.
Ortega isn't the only one who's drawn a connection between Gaga and the Tim Burton-directed series. Following the release of season one, TikTok users created a viral trend by performing the choreography from a dance scene in episode four to the Oscar winner's song "Bloody Mary." And the clips became so popular they even reached Gaga, who eventually shared her own video performing the dance craze.
Shortly after, Ortega detailed why the "Poker Face" singer's video was a real full-circle moment for her. After all, she’s a longtime fan.
"A long time ago, I worked with a hairdresser that worked with Gaga," Ortega told Variety, "and I just had seen Gaga in concert a few years before."
"The hairdresser got Gaga to make me a video saying she heard I was a fan," the 22-year-old continued. "Gaga made me a sweet video. I doubt she remembers. But to see her to do that now…it’s one of those moments you realize life changes really fast.”
