The holiday, which falls on Sunday, March 31 this year, is an important one for the millions of people around the world who follow the Christian faith. Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and follows a 40-day period known as Lent.

If you're looking to execute a banking transaction or mail a package this weekend, you may want to do it before Sunday, as most banks, post offices and shipping services will be closed on the holiday. Here's what you need to know.
